Musical Shabbat Table and Havdallah with the ABQ Shirah Ensemble.
Saturday, Jan 11th, 2020 at the home of Matthew and Amanda Bandy 5:30-7:30pm.
The Musical Shabbat Table, is a modern adaptation of the Hasidic Tish. A tish, Yiddish for table, is a gathering for community singing and fellowship. Our version is very participatory, egalitarian, for all ages, and features new and old Sabbath melodies accompanied by an ensemble led by Beth Cohen, Cantor of Nahalat Shalom and Rabbi Dov. The aim of the Musical Shabbat Table is to share Shabbat spirituality through singing, celebration, and hospitality. It is an opportunity to learn new Jewish music as well as thrilling to your favorite Jewish songs. We will also enjoy a potluck third Shabbat dairy/vegetarian prior to the singing that begins at 6pm and ending with Havdallah at 7:15pm. This is a child friendly event. Spaces are limited. RSVP required by Thursday 12/12. RSVP by firstname.lastname@example.org or 505-266-0155.
